Celebrities will be out in full force to attend the Trumpet Awards this week-end! This year's 17th annual Trumpet Awards will be hosted by Sherri Shepherd, co-host of The View and Anthony Anderson, actor Law & Order.
My wife (CR) and I are excited that European Artist, Petra Azar will be introducing The United Heart to select Honorees and guests for the Trumpet Awards. Stay tuned to learn who received a United Heart!
Petra Azar is a European sculptor creating through her art a language that is spoken from
soul to soul…. The inaudible language of Love.
Her talismanic amulets are deeply rooted in symbolism… Metaphors of hope, they reflect Petra’s unshakable belief in the ‘magnetic Power of Love’.
She began to develop her United Heart concept in 2006, in an attempt to create a global symbol that would celebrate the ideals of Unity. A symbol for a new era and a time where new and better values will rule.
“ Dr. Martin Luther King said …“ Almost always, the creative dedicated minority has made the world a better place ”… I have deeply felt his calling and created the United Heart as a Symbol of Love and Unity… Yet, with the election of our new President, Barack Obama, we all are called to work together, to create a better world for all of us.
History has caught up with my endeavor to create a gentle reminder to love ourselves and to find pride in our own strength, while finding satisfaction in reaching out to our brothers and sisters… beyond family and friends… to those we may never know.
Yes… We Are ONE! Together we will alleviate racism, poverty and bigotry.
Together we will re-discover our ability to find great satisfaction in small acts of kindness.
Together we will learn again how beautiful it is to share in the wealth of what is given to us, while remaining ambitious in the pursuit of our own happiness.” - Petra Azar -
Black men and women are a valuable resource to this country. Their contributions and accomplishments, including the part they play to ensure the continued vitality of the nation’s economy, have become increasingly evident.
Originally presented by Turner Broadcasting in 1993 and now presented by the Trumpet Awards Foundation, Inc., the Trumpet Awards were created to herald the accomplishments of Black Americans who have succeeded against immense odds. Special recognition is given to the few, who symbolize the many, who have overcome the ills of racism and poverty and achieved special greatness.
The past award presentations have been very successful and the future productions will continue to enhance the level of excellence created by the first Trumpet Awards.
